Darryl Haynes

A proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, Darryl has established a reputation of competence, results and professionalism over his 37 years as a practicing attorney, including trying over 150 jury trials and participating in over 300 mediations.

In 1980, Darryl completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts. He then became a member of the first matriculating class of the Georgia State University School of Law in 1982 and earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1986.

After graduating from law school, Darryl worked two years as Staff Attorney for Fulton County Superior Court Judge Isaac Jenrette, followed by one year as an associate with Decker & Hallman, P.C. In 1989, Darryl joined Fain, Major & Brennan, P.C. where he was an associate for 6 years. He became a partner in 1995 and practiced there through 2007.

Darryl then joined the Law Office of James C. McLaughlin (Liberty Mutual Insurance Company) as Field Counsel and practiced there until 2017. He next served one year as Staff Legal Counsel with the Law Office of TerryDawn Thomas (Zurich Insurance Company). In 2019, Darryl joined Lynn Leonard & Associates (State Farm Insurance Company) as Staff Counsel where he served until he retired from practicing law in October, 2024.

Darryl is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Gwinnett County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has an “AV” preeminent rating with Martindale Hubbell and completed the National Institute for Trial Advocacy Program in 2024.

He has been a Registered Neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution since 2024. His areas of expertise include Premises Liability, Personal Injury, and General Civil matters.
