As a graduate of Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia School of Law, Mike is a Registered Neutral with more than 45 years of litigation experience. As a trial lawyer who has handled well over 100 jury trials, Mike has extensive experience understanding how judges and juries evaluate cases and what drives verdicts.
Early in his career, Mike worked for more than 15 years as an insurance defense lawyer, handling automobile accident litigation and medical malpractice defense for hospitals and physicians, including representation of St. Paul Fire and Marine. He later transitioned his practice to focus primarily on plaintiff’s personal injury litigation, medical malpractice, and complex business litigation. Mike also has significant experience in domestic relations matters, particularly high-asset divorce litigation.
Mike has been named a Super Lawyer for more than 20 years in recognition by his peers. He is a past president of the Gwinnett Bar Association and a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Old War Horse Lawyers Club, and other civic and community organizations. He remains actively involved in his community and enjoys spending his free time chasing his bird dogs and five granddaughters.
Mike’s experience — beginning as an Assistant District Attorney, followed by years in insurance defense litigation, and now plaintiff’s litigation — provides him with a unique and balanced perspective when analyzing cases and helping parties reach resolution. He has truly “been there and done that” and welcomes the opportunity to be of service to you and your clients.
